Title V (Rural & Low Income Schools Program)
Rural and Low-Income School (RLIS) Program is intended to meet the unique needs of rural and low-income districts by providing resources and flexibility to supplement selected NCLB priorities.
Challenges faced by rural and low-income districts often include the lack of personnel and resources needed to compete effective for Federal competitive grants and formula grant allocations in amounts too small to be effective in meeting their intended purpose. The 2024-2025 Title V grant will provide funding to support the district's AVID program and teacher support for serving English Language Learners. Title V will also provide salary funding support for a paraprofessional and instructional coach at OAA, a Behavior Interventionist, a Graduation Coach, the Homeless Advocate, Teachers on Special Assignment in the Human Resources and Grants & Special Programs Departments, the Title I Director, and the Federal Programs Bookkeeper.
